Historic buildings are places of intrinsic beauty and character that cannot be replicated. It is the key understanding of the character, history and construction techniques of historic and listed buildings that contribute to the unique significance of a building or place.
Conservation areas are special places that can transport the imagination to a place in time. The context and setting of sites in conservation areas are critical to understanding the design of extensions, alterations, and new buildings.
We pride ourselves on having a great wealth of local knowledge which assists in the importance or setting understanding of sites. We work with clients and projects in Essex and surrounding areas and our office is based in Chelmsford, Essex.
We have good relationships with local authorities, planning officers and conservation officers to ensure a smooth process through planning and listed building applications.
Our services range from planning consultancy, design and drawings work, heritage statements, submission and managing planning applications and listed building consents, detailed drawings and building control submissions.
We also have a large network of consultants that we work with on a daily basis. These include; planning consultants, transport consultants, ecology consultants, arboriculturists, structural engineers, energy consultants, private and local authority buildings inspectors, contractors and builders. We believe it is this wider network and larger team that is key to successful planning applications and smooth delivery of projects.
We manage the planning and design process of projects from implementation to completion, from pre application, through planning and detailed drawings to individually guide clients through the process.
